PENDOscs brings together extensive expertise and experience in climate change; environment and natural resources management; land-use change; and communication.
Our experience spans across the European Union (EU), Africa, Caribbean, Pacific (ACP), South-East Asia and the United States of America (USA).
We work with international, regional, state, non-state and private sector actors in the different countries.

Dr. Pendo Maro
With over 20 years of experience in climate change and environmental policy, Dr. Maro has worked as an academic, team leader as well as technical expert for public and private organisations. She is the founder and Managing Director of PENDO scs.
She brings with her over 15 years of experience in international consulting with the Secretariat of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS Secretariat), the European Commission and the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), among others, including extensive research and work experience on the environmental, socio-political and economic contexts of the ACP region, European Union, and South-East Asia.
Dr. Maro holds a Doctorate Degree in Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) (summa cum laude):
Alice Maro
Ms. Maro has over 12 years of experience as a professional journalist, travel writer and communications expert with experience from the USA and East Africa.
She has worked as a reporter in America, an editor for a prominent Tanzanian travel magazine, as Tigo Tanzania’s Public Relations Officer, Communications Manager for a USAID-funded Feed the Future horticulture project and as East African Community (EAC)’s Communications Expert. She is currently working as a Communications Associate with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Tanzania.
Ms. Maro has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Journalism from the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) and is completing her Master’s Degree in Journalism also from OUT.
Stephanie Susswein
Ms. Susswein is a graduate in Medical Dentistry and Stomatology from the Université Catholique de Louvain and Université de Montréal. She has degree in Music Theory and Declamation from the Académie de Musique des Arts, de la parole et de la danse de Woluwé Saint Lambert. She is a member of the Youth Council of “My Europe,” an advocacy group for the needs of young Europeans since 2015.
Ms. Susswein is a co-founder and Chief Executive of PENDO scs, a founder and Creative Director of Peoplepplaces, a platform showcasing “Cool People and Cool Places.” She is a fashion model, singer and artist who enjoys arts, music, theater, sports, health and well-being.
